MegaFoot™ has a large barrel and an oversized strain relief specifically designed to stand up to the weight of 10- and 12-gauge speaker wire without breaking. This makes the MF2P ideal where a rugged 1/4" speaker plug is required.The housing has a .400 opening for large cables.

G&H went into business because the industry standard slim plugs a large cable company was using were failing. They hired consulting engineer Paul Haas to diagnose the problem and hopefully correct it. What he found was that the way most plugs were made is that the ground for the plug is sandwiched in behind the hot or center conductor, and then the center conductor is crimped to the solder lug. The problem was that in time the plug would loosen and the ground connection would be lost, causing intermitant signal, or even total loss of signal. The only way to fix the cable when that happened was to replace the connector. Paul teamed up with Bob Ganger, who had a small metal manufacturing company in Ohio, and G&H Industries was born. They developed methods of crimping the ground as well as the hot lugs. G&H plugs don't fail! After looking into selling Zaolla cables, the first thing I noticed was that the plugs they used were the typical cheap plugs with the sandwiched ground connection. I told Zaolla that I would not sell their cables with those plugs on them. I got them in contact with G&H, and now Zaolla cables have pure silver center conductor G&H plugs. The G&H Industries family of 1/4 Inch (6.35MM) plugs are made for the trade. They are designed and manufactured to be the most reliable and easiest to solder audio connectors in the industry. Our plugs take more abuse. They are far stronger than conventional plugs and the Asian imports, and by design, they keep working even if they are accidentally bent. The ductile oxygen free copper cord allows the plug to be straightened without breaking into pieces in your jack. The independent hot and ground assemblies make fo sure electrical integrity. It takes both of the features, found nowhere else, to make the assembly reliable. The unique flanged shape of the inner insulator makes it mechanically impossible for the hot and ground solder tabs to come into contact. No crackles or buzzes. The ground circuit is a mechanically separate assembly. The Type 6 nylon insulators are not drastically affected by time, moisture, and temperature like phenolic (epoxy impregnated cardboard) insulators used in other plugs. The hot conductor, your signal path, is made from oxygen free copper, a conductor four times more conductive than brass and eight times more conductive than steel. This is what gives the G&H plugs their trademark copper tip.
